National Beef Ambassador Competition
The Oklahoma Cattle Women hosted the National Beef Ambassador Competition in Oklahoma City on Oct 9-11, 2008. Express Ranches hosted a ranch tour, beef dinner & musical entertainment by “Oklahoma Stomp” for the contestants, their families, Oklahoma & American National Cattle Women’s officers.
NBAP is a national, competitive youth public speaking program for the beef industry. Individuals compete on their state level and winners come to the national competition to vie for cash, scholarships and an opportunity to travel across the nation promoting beef and the beef industry.
Jessica Sampson, Gazelle, Calif., Sierra Simpson, Kremlin, Okla., Sharon Byrne, Nottingham, Pa., Allison Grainger, Brenham, Texas and Bradley Copenhaver, Blackburg, Va., were chosen as the 2009 National Beef Ambassador Team!
National Angus Conference and Tour
Approximately 400 Angus breeders from across the nation journeyed to the nation’s heartland of Oklahoma for this year’s National Angus Conference & Tour, appropriately themed “An Angus Gathering.” Jarold Callahan, President of Express Ranches was honored to host them on their final stop of the tour. Callahan also serves on the National Angus Association Board of Directors.
“Trail Boss” Bob

On October 18th, Bob Funk was honored with the first-ever “Trail Boss” award at the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center's Western Spirit Celebration, in Duncan, Oklahoma. Mr. Funk received this honor due to his extensive leadership in the cattle industry and historical preservation of the Chisholm Trail.
Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Access Tour

In June, Express Ranches hosted the 5th annual Oklahoma State University Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Access Tour. During the two-day trek around the state, participants get a first-hand look at the agricultural diversity the state has to offer.
Brent Kisling, state director for USDA Rural Development and member of the Ag Alumni Board at OSU, organized the tour with the purpose of strengthening the connection between OSU faculty and staff and the rural residents of the state. Dr. Robert E. Whitson, DASNR Vice President, Dean and Director, presents Jarold Callahan with a plaque of appreciation for the support of Express Ranches.
Annual Limousin Production Sale “Fast Forward XVI”
Express Ranches’ recent annual Limousin Production Sale “Fast Forward XVI” was a success and we are so appreciative of everyone that attended! Along with Mickey Gilley in concert the evening before the sale and our 5-Time PRCA World Champion Saddle Bronc Rider, Billy Etbauer, the weekend held other “star power” surprise appearances.
All youth in attendance were in awe and received photos and autographs from former “Miss America 2006” Jennifer Berry and Dallas Cowboys’ safety, Roy Williams!
